Chidon Academy — Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

The Chidon Academy mobile app (“the App”) is provided by Chidon Academy (“Chidon Academy,” “we,” “us”) to deliver Yahadus learning courses to enrolled students. If you have any questions about this policy or your child’s information, contact us at contact@chidonacademy.com.

2. Scope

This policy covers the Chidon Academy iOS app and the learning service it connects to at chidonacademy.com. Students do not create accounts inside the App. They sign in through their existing Tzivos Hashem family account (single sign-on); the App itself does not ask children to register or create a login.

3. Information we collect

a) Information received through sign-on (from the Tzivos Hashem system)

When a student signs in, we receive the following about the student from the family’s existing account, solely to set up and deliver their courses:

• Student identifier (“serial” / student ID)
• Student’s name (English and Hebrew)
• Grade
• School
• Gender
• Parent/guardian name
• Parent/guardian email
• Number of children in the family
• Enrolment date and family identifier
• Account status
• Which book/course the student is enrolled in

We do not collect a student’s own email address or phone number. The only contact email we receive is the parent/guardian’s email.

b) Learning activity

As the student uses the courses, we record their progress within each course (SCORM attempts, scores, completion status) and basic sign-in activity, so their learning can be saved and continued.

c) Limited technical information

Standard information needed to run the App, such as app version and device type. The App does not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking, does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA), and does not collect location.

4. How we use information

We use the information only to:

• authenticate the student and give them access to their enrolled courses;
• deliver course content and save learning progress and results;
• provide support and communicate with the parent/guardian if needed;
• keep the service secure and working properly.

We do not use children’s information for advertising, marketing profiling, or any behavioral targeting, and we do not sell or rent personal information.

5. Children’s privacy (COPPA)

The App is intended for students, many of whom are under 13. We take children’s privacy seriously and limit collection to what is needed for the educational service (“data minimization”).

• The student’s information is provided through the family’s Tzivos Hashem account, and enrolment in Chidon Academy is arranged by the family/school. By enrolling a child and providing the child’s information, the parent/guardian (or the school acting with parental consent) authorizes the collection and use described here.
• We collect only information reasonably necessary to provide the courses.
• We never condition a child’s participation on disclosing more information than is necessary.
• We do not knowingly allow third parties to collect personal information from children through the App (there are no third-party analytics, ads, or trackers in the App).

Parents’ rights. A parent/guardian may, at any time, ask us to review the personal information we hold about their child, correct it, stop further collection, or delete it. To do so, contact us at contact@chidonacademy.com. We will verify the request (to confirm you are the child’s parent/guardian) before acting on it.

6. How information is shared

We share personal information only as needed to operate the service, and never for others’ independent marketing:

• Sign-on provider (Tzivos Hashem / the family-account system): used to authenticate the student and retrieve their enrolment details, as described above.
• Hosting/technical providers: the learning platform is hosted at chidonacademy.com and by our hosting providers, who process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
• Legal requirements: if required by law, or to protect the safety and rights of students or others.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

7. External links

At sign-in, the App opens the Tzivos Hashem login page so the family can log in. Course content is delivered within the App. The App does not direct children to general web browsing or social media.

8. Data retention

We keep a student’s information for as long as they are enrolled and their account is active, and as needed to maintain their learning records, after which we delete or de-identify it, unless a longer period is required by law. Parents may request deletion earlier (see Section 5).

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect personal information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections between the App and our servers and access controls on the learning platform. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your child’s information.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the “Last updated” date and, for material changes affecting children’s information, provide notice as required by law. Continued use of the App after changes indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
